We welcome everyone to our weekly series Wednesday words of wisdom. This Wednesday we will take your thorough the planning route for your academic calendar.
Remember planning months in advance for your friend’s surprise birthday party? You left no stone unturned while planning. All nitty-gritty was taken care of. Right from the invitations to cake and snacks, you planned every detail. A lot of effort, time and planning went into it. All this because you cared so much for your friend. The party was a grand success, needless to say.
Well, it is time to start taking care about yourself, your future, your academia.
The new academic year is just around the corner and you are getting sleepless nights just thinking about how to plan the year ahead. It is a common feeling among students wanting to get admission into a top-notch university. Their brains work overtime thinking about how they will manage the lectures, semester projects, weekly and monthly assignments and most of all submit all these before the due dates. All this needs a comprehensive plan and schedule.
Stop pulling your hair! There are tools available that help you plan the year ahead. Choose one, which fits your needs, and then start working with it.
- The very first step of working with a planner is that it will streamline the approach to your planning and help you organize things as per their dates, timings and priorities.
- Step 2 – Hands-on
The second step would be in getting the timings, schedules and syllabi of the various classes you will be attending. Start with gathering the dates and time of each class. Write these down in your planner in the respective slots. Then work on your dates for assignment submissions. Write these down and highlight them for easy access. These are followed by exam dates, which also need to be highlighted. All projects to be done during the year or semester should be noted with their deadline dates in the planner. Use color-coding to show due assignments and completed assignments. Similar pattern can be followed for weekly assignments.
- Time management is very important when you are starting a new academic year. Top ranked universities are very particular about the timings of each class, the schedules every student follows and how often they miss deadlines. Your student rankings depend on that and no student can afford this. Hence, when you make a schedule and plan of action for a semester or the completely academic year make sure you follow it. Follow your planner and you will see that going through a tedious academic year is like piece of cake.
- The application process
It is the quality of application that matters, irrespective of the volume. You need to get your application right. XYZ consultancy will assist you in acquiring admission in a high-ranking university. They hold workshops to assist the applicants in studies at universities like Stanford, Harvard and Wharton. They will guide you through the application, admission and other processes involved in getting through to a good university in any stream you want.
