She also talked about the reasons for studying abroad; including factors such as the extensive platforms available for research and innovation, and how to ensure that you spend time deciding what courses and institutes will truly add value to a student’s background and future. She cautioned students on ensuring that the information and advice they sought was in fact credible. She reminded students that there are a plethora of uninformed or misinformed advisors in the market and hence the need for students to verify the information they were being given.

Ms Singh also gave students information and data on which careers abroad were growing fastest and how to think about course selection by looking and analyzing the vast opportunities available abroad. Since there are many disciplines available abroad, such as astrobiology, which are not available in India, Ms Singh emphasized the need for research and awareness.
