Workshop on Overview of US Application Process for students and parents
Students and parents will be introduced to an overview of the US admissions process which will cover areas such as ‘why the US?’, how applicants are evaluated including both academic and non-academic factors, why students must start planning early etc. Deep dives on

• Academic Factors: How to select courses at school and programs outside of school to demonstrate academic strengths, the importance of the SAT.
• Non - Academic Factors: What factors are considered and ways to demonstrate these factors at school and outside school.

• Students will be shown how to create a ‘4 year action plan’ though an interactive group session.
• Students will be provided guidance on how to assess their values and interests – using self-awareness techniques, values and interests inventories and exploration.

• Internship/Job Shadowing opportunities
• Opportunities to develop/explore interests etc.
• Opportunities to create a business
